The latest Buzz from The Busy Needle August Blurb, 2010 Hi Everyone, I hope that you haven’t melted during the summer heat! This is the time of year that I’m really glad that I’m not a full time knitter. I’m so happy that I don’t have a pile of wool on my lap right now! I’d much rather be working on a needlepoint canvas or cross stitch project during the summer heat. The good news is that Autumn is on the way. It’s already August! Which means that cooler temps, pretty leaves and apple cider can’t be far off. In the spirit of the upcoming season, we’re having a Spooky Halloween Sale here at The Busy Needle. Choose any in stock, regularly priced needlework kit, cross stitch chart or needlepoint canvas with a Halloween theme and receive 25% off!! The great thing about having a Spooky sale in August is that you will actually have time to complete your project by the Trick or Treat deadline! In other shop news, I want to let you know about an upcoming needlework show that I’ll be attending in September. It’s a cash and carry market in St. Louis and this year’s show features a terrific combination of both needlepoint and cross stitch designs from all of your favorite artists. This show is a biggie! I’ve attended this show in years past, but never have I seen such a huge list of designers. Here’s a link via the TNNA website of all of the artists (and their websites) that will there: http://www.e-offinger.net/tnna/exh/FallExhibitors.cfm Feel free to browse their sites and drool over the wonderful designs. Many artists also release “show exclusives” and brand new designs which of course, will be going home with me. In fact, my suitcase is always jam packed (and over the 50 lb. limit) on my return trip and I often wind up sending goodies back to the shop via UPS. I just can’t wait for the show!! Before I say goodbye, I thought I’d share a picture or two of my granddaughter Lorelei. She’s a big girl now (8 months!) and can wave bye-bye and tries to say DaDa. Being a Grammy is such a magical thing!
I hope that your summer has been great and that you are all stitching up a storm. Remember to keep making the world a better place a stitch at a time and stay well until next time! Fondly, Susan
