The latest Buzz from The Busy Needle Early Fall 2008
I’ve decided that I’m in a time vacuum. Doesn’t it just seem like it was the 4th of July? Where does the time go? I know that I’ve been stitching up a storm, but my closets still need to be cleaned out and I was supposed to do that little chore last weekend. Ugh. Housework or Needlework? Gee, I wonder what I’ll choose… So many new things have arrived at the shop lately that I hardly know where to begin! In Cross-Stitch Land, we have 50 copies reserved of Just Cross Stitch’s Annual Holiday Ornament Issue. Drop in or call us to reserve your copy fairly quickly if you would like one. We always sell out of our copies fast! New charts from Cross Eyed Cricked, Homespun Elegance and Prairie Schooler including the annual Santa have also arrived. Here are some photos to tempt you…
Also, Little House Needleworks has a brand new design featuring a Bee… I’m already half way done with this little gem and I’m planning to finish it into a Needlecase. (I’m stitching over one on 28 ct.) Check this out…
So many more photos are listed on the Hoffman site (where I purchase so many of the great charts) and the link to the August New Book Listing is here: http://www.hoffmandis.com/newbooklistings/Aug08.cfm Clicking this link is guaranteed to get you in trouble… there are just so many great charts to choose from! Let us know if you’d like to order any of them. Needlepointers, prepare yourselves. The shop is stocked full of new canvases from all of your favorite designers. Heads up… Raymond Crawford has a trunk show scheduled with us in December and has designed a darling canvas featuring the San Xavier Mission. I’m currently working on a stitch guide for it and I hope to teach it in a class during the trunk show. There is a photo of the canvas in the shop if you’re interested. Also, the newly released Jinice line drawn counted needlepoint canvases have been a huge success. One canvas that is flying out the doors is a design depicting the state of Arizona’s license plate with a personalized message… take a look…
Many other states will be available and the message can be painted with pretty much anything that you can imagine. I’d like mine to say “BZ NEEDLE” so I’m going to place my order pronto. Halloween is right around the corner and it just happens to be my favorite holiday. I always go a little overboard in ordering Halloween canvases and I thought that I was the only one who loved Halloween. Turns out I’m not alone… we have lots of customers who love black cats, witches hats and jack-o-lanterns just as much as I do!Here are some of the latest Halloween designs to arrive at the shop…
Speaking of upcoming holidays… are you looking for a quick to stitch gift for someone special? If so, I have great news for you. I recently went to Florida to visit my Dad and on the plane trip to Tampa, I stitched a prefinished key fob from Julia’s Needleworks. Here is the finished product:
I timed myself and I finished stitching it in one hour and 22 minutes. It is a self finishing key fob and I used my fiber “stash” to stitch it and I decided that everyone in my family is getting one for a gift this year. What’s not to love? You use your stash, it’s quick to stitch and there is no charge for finishing! Well, I saved the best news for last. We are having our 6th annual “Crazy from the Heat” sale! Just because it’s almost Fall doesn’t mean that the heat ends in Tucson. So, by this time of year, all of us are a little bit nuts from the high temperatures and we go a wee bit bonkers. From August 9 through the 23rd, everything online is 25% off. Everything! Canvases, charts, kits, lights, totes, accessories, fibers…you name it, everything is 25% off! There are a few details… the sale is limited to stock on hand (no special orders) and does not include finishing and framing. But now is the time to start stitching gifts, stocking up on fibers or just treating yourself to something wonderful. It’s a great time to cocoon at home with a movie and your stitching. Until next time… thanks again for being such great customers and friends!Fondly, Susan
